Stanislav Benediktovich Benediktov is a Soviet and Russian theatre designer, set designer, teacher and professor. He was born on June 8, 1944, in Moscow.
Benediktov was the chief designer at the Russian Order of Lenin of the Academic Youth Theater (presently the Russian Academic Youth Theatre (RAMT)) since 1985; Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts (2002); People's Artist of Russia (1996); Recipient of the Stanislavsky RSFSR State Prize (1985); Member of the Artists' Union of the USSR since 1976.
In 1973 Benediktov graduated from the faculty of painting of the V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute. He graduated from graduated from the Moscow State Academic Art College of the Memory of 1905 (a student of T.I. Selvinskaya, he attended classes of academician V. Ryndin and M. Kurilko), where from 1973 to 1977 he worked as a teacher, he graduated a class of theatre designers.
From 1977 to 1984 he was the chief designer at the Theater for Young Spectators named after A.N. Ostrovsky (in Kirov). In 1980 he came to Russian Academic Youth Theatre (RAMT), where since 1985 he has been holding the position of chief designer.
Designed the set and properties for the following productions performed at the Maly Theatre:
1978 - «Vertigo» by Gevorg Sarkisyan, directed by Vladimir Beylis
1980 - «The Challenge» by Georgiy Markov and Eduard Shima, directed by Vladimir Andreev
2009 - «Molière, or The Cabal of Hypocrites» by Mikhail Bulgakov, directed by Vladimir Dragunov
2013 - «How to Сheat the State» (The School for Taxpayers) by Louis Verneuil and Georges Berr, directed by Vladimir Beylis
2015 – «Eight Loving Women» by Robert Thomas, directed by Vladimir Beylis
2017 – «Talents and Admirers» by Alexander Ostrovsky, directed by Vladimir Dragunov
