One of the tasks that our theatrу sets itself is to familiarize the audience with the great pages of national and world history. The Maly Theatre has always been interested in the Middle Ages Russia. This is the epoque that is described in «Time of Troubles. 1609-1611», telling about the heroic defense of Smolensk, one of the final chords of the dark ages of the end of the XVI - beginning of the XVII centuries.
