Stepan Korshunov, an actor of drama, was born on May 22, 1978. In 1999 he graduated from Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School (course of O.N. Solomina and Y.M. Solomin) and joined the Maly Theatre’s company.

From the very first days of work on the oldest drama stage, the young artist has been actively involved in the repertoire. It should be noted, however, that Chekhov’s heroes stand apart in Stepan’s artistic profile - Petya Trofimov in «The Cherry Orchard», Konstantin Treplev in «Seagull» (these roles were descended to Stepan by his father, People's Artist of Russia Alexander Korshunov), and Fedotik in «Three Sisters».

Petya Trofimov performed by Stepan strikes with his pragmatism – he knows perfectly well what he wants from life. Treplev is calm and not fussy. He is a talented person, rather vulnerable and subtle, wise beyond his years. Kostya is looking for a soul mate, and Nina seems to be the perfect match for him. However, this love is doomed to failure since it reveals the lack of self-sufficiency, the infantilism of Treplev.

Stepan Korshunov is heir to the great traditions of one of the most famous Russian acting dynasties. His great-grandfather Ilya Sudakov is the legendary director of the Moscow Art Theatre, later the main director and artistic director of the Maly Theatre; his great-grandmother was the famous actress in the Moscow Art Theatre, Klavdiya Elanskaya. Stepan's grandmother, Ekaterina Elanskaya, established the Sphere Moscow Drama Theater, and his grandfather, People's Artist of the USSR Viktor Korshunov, was the general director of the Maly Theatre for many years. Stepan’s father, Alexander Korshunov, - is an actor and director at the Maly Theatre, and now he is also the artistic director of the «Sphere» theater; his mother, Olga Korshunova, is a theatre designer.

Stepan Korshunov actively cooperates with the «Sphere» theater. Among his roles are: Harold («Harold and Maude» by Colin Higgins), Clinton («The Scandalous Affair...» based on the «The Scandalous Affair Of Mr Kettle And Mrs Moon» by J.B. Priestley), Chino («West Side Story» by Ernest Lehman and Leonard Bernstein), Yuri Volin («Men and Passions» by Mikhail Lermontov), Mizgir («A Spring Fairy Tale» based on Alexander Ostrovsky's «The Snow Maiden»), Lopakhin («The Cherry Orchard» by Anton Chekhov.

Stepan has a diverse range of interests: he is an avid motorist, he is a keen snowboarder, and an outstanding painter.

In 2007 he graduated from the graduated from the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors (workshop of A.Surikova, V.Fokin). As a director, Stepan made his own short film «Silencio», 16 series of the project «Moscow. Three stations», and worked on the series «Web-7» (alongside M. Galin).

Stepan Korshunov starred in the series «Return of Mukhtar-1», «The Other», «Notes of the Forwarder of the Secret Chancellery-2», «Moscow. Three railway stations», and in the movies «The Sovereign's Servant», «Golubka», «Sweet Encounters».
