1945. Early February. World War II is rolling toward its finale in a bloody wave. In Livadia Palace, near Yalta, three men decide what the world will be after the defeat of Nazi Germany, the end of which was near and obvious to everyone. History is being made here and now. Stalin, Churchill and Roosevelt - the big three. The Maly Theater's production of the play by Swedish playwright Lukas Svensson recounts these great days and offers an inside look at the events. "Our play is a story of passions," director-director Andrei Zhitinkin shares his thoughts. - The most interesting thing is what happens behind the scenes of events as global in their significance as the Yalta Conference. The mystery is appealing. Every day, negotiations were on the verge of breaking down. Sleepless nights, hellish work. No one believed that the three could come to an agreement: everyone was pulling in his own direction. And that was understandable, for behind their backs stood the whole nation. But the three of them needed victory! And that is what - victory - we dedicate our performance to.
